What is Vijaya?

Vijaya is the classical Ayurvedic name for the leaf of Cannabis sativa Linn. For centuries it has been part of Ayurvedic practice, traditionally used in formulations meant to bring relaxation, restful sleep and balance to body and mind. Calmosis brings that tradition into modern, measured, lab-tested products — made in India and taken under a doctor's guidance.

Vijaya products are Ayurvedic medicines, not recreational cannabis. Recreational cannabis is illegal in India under the NDPS Act, 1985. Ayurvedic preparations made from the leaf are regulated as medicines and require medical supervision. Learn more in our guide, What is Vijaya?

Why AYUSH-licensed matters

Vijaya (Cannabis sativa Linn.) products are regulated under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. A licence from the AYUSH Department is what separates a legal Ayurvedic medicine from an unregulated product of unknown origin. All Calmosis products are approved by the AYUSH Department, Madhya Pradesh, under Licence No. MPI25E/23/1117, and are made by Calmosis Vedic Wellness Private Limited, a DPIIT-recognised startup founded in Bengaluru in 2023.

When you buy any Vijaya product, look for the licence number, a clear ingredient list, labelled Vijaya content and a prescription step. If any of these are missing, think twice.

How Calmosis works

• Free AYUSH doctor consultation. Every order includes a free consultation with an AYUSH-licensed doctor, who reviews your goals, health history and suitability.
• Prescription. If Vijaya is right for you, the doctor prescribes the product and dose — a valid prescription is required for oral cannabis-leaf products in India.
• Lab-tested product. Your product is AYUSH licensed and lab tested, made in India with an Ayurvedic formulation.
• Delivery across India. Orders are processed within 1–2 business days after payment and consultation, with standard delivery in 3–7 business days (metros usually faster) and express delivery in select regions. Cash on delivery is available.

Calmosis makes Ayurvedic Vijaya products in three formats, each with a free consultation:

• Pet Mantra — Dog Mantra is a 100% THC-free, vet-approved CBD oil for dogs, with a free vet consultation.

Lab testing and quality

Every Calmosis product is lab tested, and Green Mantra is third-party lab tested. We follow Ayurvedic formulation principles, list our ingredients and Vijaya content clearly, and make every product in India. Because Vijaya is a medicine, we are equally clear about who should not use it: it is not recommended for anyone under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or people with heart conditions or diabetes, and you should not drive or operate machinery after use.

Using Vijaya responsibly

Vijaya is most useful when it is approached with the respect any medicine deserves. That means following the dose your doctor prescribes, starting low and going slow, and giving each dose time to take effect before considering more. Possible side effects include drowsiness, dry mouth and changes in appetite, so pay attention to how you feel and share that feedback at your consultation.

Used responsibly at recommended doses, cannabis leaf extract is generally not considered physically addictive, though some people may develop psychological dependence — another reason we keep a doctor involved from the first order. Keep all products out of reach of children and pets, and never give a human Vijaya product to an animal.
